Notes
- Sizes here are commonly-cited marketplace listing guidelines, not a live specification pulled from each marketplace - always confirm your category's exact current requirement.
- The white-background check compares the four corner pixels of your original photo - it's a simple heuristic, not a guarantee your listing image meets a marketplace's isolation/background policy.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the main listing image need a pure white background?
Amazon, Flipkart and Meesho all require the main/primary product image to be shot on a plain white background with no props, text or watermarks - it is one of the most common reasons a listing image gets flagged or a listing gets suppressed during a catalog quality check.
Does this tool remove my existing background, or only add white padding?
It only pads and centers your image onto a white canvas at the target size - it does not remove or replace an existing non-white background. If your product photo was shot with a colored or busy background, you'll need to cut it out first in an editing tool before resizing here.
Why does my image still get flagged after resizing here?
This tool checks only the four corner pixels of your original image as a quick heuristic. If your product itself extends close to those corners, or the background has a slight off-white tint the corners didn't catch, the check can pass here but still fail a marketplace's stricter image-quality review.
Which format should I download - JPEG or WebP?
Upload JPEG for marketplace listings - Amazon, Flipkart and Meesho all expect JPEG (or sometimes PNG) for catalog images, and WebP is not universally accepted by every marketplace's upload system. WebP here is offered mainly for use outside marketplace listings, like your own website.
Is 1600x1600 always the right size for Amazon?
Amazon recommends at least 1000x1000 pixels so the zoom feature works, and up to 1600x1600 is commonly used; exact requirements can vary slightly by category. Confirm the current requirement for your specific category in Seller Central before a bulk image update.
